We thank the organizers for inviting our team again this year. We have received much support from people in Japan and around the world following the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011 and the typhoon that damaged Iwate last year. Many people also visited our prefecture last year for the National Sports Festival of Japan 2016 in Iwate, which happily gave us a chance to show you how our prefecture has rebounded from the 2011 earthquake and is rebuilding. We would like to take this opportunity to again thank you for your support. The Iwate Training Center Selected Team features players selected from the Iwate Training Center camp that is held once a month. This tournament gives us the opportunity to play against powerhouse teams from Japan and abroad, and to interact with people from Japan and around the world, energizing everyone who is involved in football in Iwate, including the players and the coaches. We will play with the spirit of Iwate and aim for overall victory, actively conducting ourselves as representatives of Iwate Prefecture both on and off the pitch. Through this tournament, we hope to express the appreciation of our prefecture for the support it has received from people in Japan and the rest of the world, and to embody Iwate’s resolve to rebuild.
